On 20th March EuroSITES scientists at the National Oceanography Centre, Southampton took part in an Open Day as part of the UK National Science and Engineering Week. Led by EuroSITES coordination office, an interactive exhibit was presented on ‘Keeping a Watch on our Changing Oceans’ . Posters and an interactive quiz were used to engage school children. Younger children took part in a zooplankton colouring exercise and enjoyed learning about the microscopic marine life . Kate Larkin, EuroSITES project manager said ‘This was one of the most successful events yet with over 2,500 members of the general public taking part in this interactive event. It was a pleasure to see how keen the public are to learn more about the wonders of the marine world and how fascinated they are by the concept of ocean observatories.
